Teams Wild Wild West, Mission Hope, and WOW all got together to do a fundraiser at a local restaurant, Cool Hand Luke's. Janet Davila requested Purple Beer to be served at Happy Hour. That was a great idea since Wednesday night was Lakers Basketball night. Most the guys thought the purple beer was for the Lakers. Anyway, we had a steady stream all day. I think we did well. Thanks to Lisa Ambrosetti and Janet Davila for doing most of the work. Thanks to all the other gals that came out to greet people. Good Times.

Captain's Meeting - April 29th
A few requests from the Captain's Meeting.
1. Cardboard car race for "Road to Recovery." If you want to build a cardboard car, check out the ACS link at the top of the page.
2. They need volunteers to work the Kids Kamp on the day of the Relay. They set-up from 8 - 10 am. You can watch kids from 10 am - 12 pm, 12 - 2 pm, or 2 - 4 pm. Clean up will be from 4 - 5 pm. They also need donations of toys and snacks. If you know anyone who wants to help, but cannot offer monetary support. Maybe they could help volunteer with the kids. The lady who runs Kids Kamp every year is recovering from cancer herself. This is the first year that she has asked for help. She deserves it! Please help her out.

Paint the Town Purple at City Hall
A group of hard core Relay for Lifers came out for Paint the Town Purple at the Santa Maria City Hall. These were the only people there. At least they still have smiles on their faces. Wild Wild West made $50 in donations at least. I think we lost a lot of folks to the Relay for Life event in Nipomo. We will be more organized next year... I hope.

Decorations at Cambria for May 1st
I decorated my work - Cambria Winery - for Paint the Town Purple. I thought I did a good job with the decorations. They are even lettting me keep the decorations up all month with a donation jar in the tasting room. My daycare provider, a former floral designer, helped me to make the ribbons that I put up outside. We made $220 in donations with the help of our winemaker. It was a good day. We shared the money with Relay for Life Team, San Luis Sports Therapy. The tasting room manager is on that team with her sister.
